The Moka Express is the model that made Bialetti famous around the world in the 1930s. It is still one of the most recognisable moka pots. The distinctive octagonal shape has not changed for decades, and the simple design makes intense, aromatic coffee in just a few minutes.

The 12 TZ makes about 600 ml of coffee, or 12 espresso cups of about 50 ml each.

How to make coffee in the Moka Express

The moka pot consists of a lower water chamber, a funnel with a filter for the ground coffee and an upper chamber for the finished coffee. Fill the lower part with water below the level of the safety valve, then put the coffee in the filter and screw all the parts together.

Once the moka pot is on the hob, pressure pushes hot water through the ground coffee and into the upper chamber. After a few minutes the aromatic coffee is ready to serve.

Which hobs can you use the Moka Express on?

The Bialetti Moka Express can be used on gas and electric hobs. It is not designed for induction hobs. When using it, position the moka pot so the handle is away from the heat source.

After use, wash the moka pot by hand with water only. Do not use detergents or put it in the dishwasher.
