How to brew coffee in the AeroPress Original

There are 1,000 ways to make aromatic coffee in this brewer, maybe more: you can brew the classic way or use the inverted method. Here is the classic method devised by the manufacturer.

Prepare the ingredients and equipment: you need freshly ground coffee (approx. 15-17 g), hot water (approx. 85-96°C), an AeroPress, a paper filter and a kitchen scale.

1. Rinse the filter: put a paper filter in the AeroPress filter cap and rinse it with hot water. Place the brewer on a mug or jug.
2. Add coffee: pour the ground coffee into the AeroPress chamber and shake gently to level it.
3. Add water: pour in the right amount of hot water (approx. 200 ml) and stir with the stirrer so all the coffee is brewing.
4. Close and press: insert the plunger, wait about 30 seconds, then press the coffee slowly through the filter.
5. Enjoy your coffee: your brew is ready. Serve it black or add milk and sugar to taste.
