The La Marzocco Linea Micra is a single-group home espresso machine designed as a scaled-down version of the café classic Linea Classic S. Dual boilers, an integrated group and PID temperature control let you make espresso and milk drinks with the kind of control you get from professional machines. At just 29 cm wide, the Micra fits even a small kitchen without giving up commercial-grade capability.

La Marzocco Linea Micra: café engineering at home scale

The Linea Micra has two independent boilers: 0.25 l for brewing and 1.6 l for steam. You can pull a shot and steam milk without switching the machine between modes.

The integrated group and electronic PID controller keep brewing temperature stable. That matters most when you make several espressos in a row and want each one to taste the same.

The machine heats up quickly and stays simple to use. The brew paddle looks like the mechanical paddle on larger La Marzocco machines but uses a reliable electric switch.

Espresso, cappuccino and everyday convenience

The Linea Micra handles espresso as well as cappuccino or flat white. The 1.6 l steam boiler lets you steam milk right after brewing, with no waiting for the temperature to change.

Day to day you will also appreciate:

• 3-in-1 portafilter: single spout, double spout or bottomless.
• Insulated steam wand: cool to the touch, so it is safer to handle.
• Hot water spout: handy for rinsing the portafilter between shots.

Control the Linea Micra from the app

New electronics connect the machine to the internet and to the La Marzocco Home app, available on the App Store and Google Play.

In the app you can set the brew temperature, schedule when the machine switches on and run an automatic backflush, so part of the setup and maintenance is right on your phone.

Does the La Marzocco Micra need a water line?

No. It has a built-in 2 l water reservoir and works without a permanent plumbing connection, which is ideal in apartments where running a separate line to the machine is not always possible.

Plumbing in is optional. Either way, look after your water quality, both for the taste of your espresso and to protect the machine from scale.

La Marzocco Linea Micra or Linea Mini?

Both are home machines, but they suit slightly different needs.

Linea Micra is 29 cm wide, weighs 19 kg and is a great choice if you make a few espressos or cappuccinos a day. It takes up less space and still gives you dual boilers in a compact body.

Linea Mini is 36 cm wide, weighs 30 kg and has a larger 3 l steam boiler. It is the better pick for more drinks a day, especially milk drinks, and adds adjustable pump pressure and Brew by Weight with a compatible scale.

For a few coffees a day, the Micra is a sensible choice. If you often make drinks for a crowd, look at the Mini.

Linea Micra in brushed steel

This La Marzocco Linea Micra comes in brushed steel. It is also available in white, black, red, navy blue, cream, silver satin.

Which grinder and coffee to pair it with?

The Linea Micra needs a separate grinder with precise espresso adjustment, for example the Mahlkönig E64 WS with 64 mm flat burrs and weight-based dosing. A good grinder lets you match the grind to your beans and control shot time.

The other half is freshly roasted whole-bean coffee. In our roastery you will find espresso coffees with profiles from chocolate and nuts to more fruity. The right beans and a well set grinder let you get the most out of the machine.
