PuqPress M6 GEN5 Automatic Tamper

PuqPress M6 GEN5 is an integrated automatic tamper that mounts as a base under a Victoria Arduino Mythos grinder. The model is designed for the MY75, MYG75, MY85 and MYG85 grinders and reduces the number of machines that each need their own space on the counter. Automatic tamping at 5 to 30 kg helps keep every dose prepared the same way, whoever the barista is.

PuqPress M6 for Mythos MY75, MYG75, MY85 and MYG85

The PuqPress M6 is designed as a base for selected Victoria Arduino Mythos grinders. It is compatible with the MY75, MYG75, MY85 and MYG85, so the grinder and automatic tamper form a single workstation. After grinding, the portafilter goes straight into the unit under the grinder.

The manufacturer does not confirm compatibility of the M6 with the MYONE grinder or the older Mythos 2. If you are looking for a Victoria Arduino Mythos automatic tamper, check the exact model designation of your grinder before buying. The grinder shown in the photos is not included.

5 to 30 kg pressure and five tamping profiles

Tamping force is adjustable from 5-30 kg in 1 kg steps using the Adjustment Wheel. This lets you match the pressure to your basket, dose and recipe, and then keep the same setting for every extraction. The unit takes over a task that, with manual tamping, depends among other things on each barista’s strength and technique.

The PuqPress M6 offers five working profiles:

• Speedy, 1.3 s: a profile aimed at the fastest possible tamp,
• Precision, 2.1 s: a longer cycle focused on a precise tamp,
• Soft, 2.5 s: a gentler working profile,
• Hulk, 2.5 s: two tamps with force plus a polishing movement,
• Single: a single-tamp profile.

After installation, choose the right force and working profile. You do not need to judge the pressure by hand before each extraction: every dose is tamped according to the saved setting.

PuqPress M6: 58 or 58.3 mm base?

The version on offer has a 58.3 mm base. The M6 works with bottomless (naked) portafilters and with single or double spout portafilters. This means you can use automatic tamping without changing the type of portafilter used at your station.

Bases in 53, 54.3, 57.3, 58 and 58.3 mm are available for this model. The manufacturer designed the base to be swapped by the user in about 30 seconds. This version is supplied with a 58.3 mm base, so check your basket diameter before buying.

Station dimensions and counter space

The M6 measures 37.5 x 19.5 x 13.8 cm and weighs 5.2 kg. It is the deepest model in the integrated M series, so check your counter depth and the space needed to insert the portafilter comfortably before ordering. The overall size of the station will also depend on the grinder mounted on the base.

The unit runs on 110-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz and is rated at 76 W. The matte black housing forms a base built to fit the Mythos models listed above.

Warranty, capacity and features

The PuqPress M6 is designed for venues using more than 10 kg of coffee a week. The manufacturer gives a 2-year warranty with no limit on the number of tamps, so the warranty does not end when a cycle counter reaches a certain figure.

The M6 has no Mirror Tray or Profile Switch. This means there is no mirrored tray included, and the unit has no separate switch for quick profile changes. All five profiles described above remain available through the unit’s controls.
