Urnex Cafiza 2 is a professional cleaning powder for espresso machines. It removes coffee residue from group heads, valves and group lines, helping keep the machine clean and the coffee tasting as it should. The product is suitable for use in espresso machines.
Thorough espresso machine cleaning with Urnex Cafiza
As an espresso machine works, coffee residue and deposits build up in the group, valves and lines. Regular cleaning helps limit this build-up and keeps the brewing system in good condition.
Urnex Cafiza 2 is designed for thorough cleaning of espresso machines and can be used both to clean the group and to clean the metal parts of the machine.
Cleaning powder for espresso machines
Cafiza 2 works in espresso machines from different manufacturers. It is especially well suited to cleaning group heads, valves and group lines.
To clean the group you use a blind basket, which lets you run the cleaning process with the powder.
How to use Urnex Cafiza powder
Fit a blind basket in the portafilter and add 3 g of powder. Start brewing for about 5 seconds, then stop. Wait another 5 seconds and repeat 5 times.
When the cycle is finished, rinse the portafilter and group, then repeat the procedure without cleaner to rinse the system thoroughly.
Blind basket and cleaning metal parts
A blind basket is needed to clean the brew group. It lets the powder work during the machine’s cleaning cycle.
Cafiza 2 can also be used to clean the filter basket and other metal parts. Dissolve 6 g of powder in 1 l of hot water, then soak the parts in the solution for 30 minutes. Afterwards, rinse them thoroughly with clean, warm water.
Regular cleaning for better-tasting coffee
Regular cleaning limits the build-up of coffee deposits in the brewing system. It matters most in machines under heavy use, where a high number of drinks makes residue build up faster.
