New size and new look! Mount Caramel lavender syrup now comes in a larger 250 ml bottle instead of 200 ml, with a refreshed label design. It is a handmade Polish syrup for coffee, desserts, cocktails and other drinks.
What Mount Caramel lavender syrup tastes like
The base of the syrup is caramel sweetness, which gives depth and a light toffee note. On top of that comes the distinctive floral aroma of lavender. Fresh lemon juice cuts through the sweetness and adds a light, fresh note.
In coffee with milk, you mostly taste caramel combined with a delicate lavender aroma. It is an interesting choice for people who like floral additions to coffee but do not want lavender to take over completely.
How to make coffee with lavender syrup at home
You do not need an expensive espresso machine. A moka pot or a filter coffee maker and a milk frother are enough.
- Pour 15-20 ml of syrup into the bottom of the mug.
- Make strong coffee, for example a double espresso or coffee from a moka pot. Pour it over the syrup and stir while it is hot.
- Heat and froth 150 ml of milk. Regular 3.2% cow’s milk works well, and among plant drinks, a barista oat drink.
- Pour the milk into the coffee and stir gently.
Start with 15 ml and adjust the amount of syrup to your taste. With lavender it is especially worth starting with less, to keep the balance between coffee, caramel and the floral aroma.
What else it goes with
- Tea: add a small amount to black or delicate tea.
- Lemonade: the syrup with water and lemon makes a refreshing floral drink.
- Pancakes, waffles, porridge: pour it on instead of a classic syrup.
- Vanilla ice cream: the caramel and lavender note pairs well with ice cream.
- Drinks and cocktails: works as a sweet, aromatic ingredient.
How to make lavender lemonade at home
Lightly floral, a little citrusy and refreshing. Lavender syrup goes well with lemon, so this is an easy way to use it beyond coffee.
- Pour 20 ml of lavender syrup into a glass.
- Add 20 ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Add a few ice cubes.
- Top up with 150-200 ml of cold sparkling water and stir gently.
- Add a slice of lemon or a few mint leaves.
Tip: if you prefer a sweeter drink, increase the syrup to 25 ml.
