PuqPress M3 Bracket Grinder Riser

The PuqPress M3 Bracket is a mounting riser that lets you place a compatible Mazzer, Macap, Ceado or HeyCafe grinder above the PuqPress M3 automatic tamper. It means you can use an integrated tamper even if you do not have a Mahlkönig E65S or E65S GbW grinder. Grinder and tamper share one spot on the counter, and the bracket carries the weight of the grinder so it does not rest on the tamper housing.

What is a PuqPress grinder bracket for?

PuqPress M series automatic tampers are not freestanding units. Each model is designed as a base for a specific family of grinders: M2 for Victoria Arduino Mythos, M3 for Mahlkönig E65S, M4 for Fiorenzato F64 and F83, M5 for Mahlkönig E80, and M6 for Victoria Arduino MY75 and MY85.

In this setup the grinder stands directly on the tamper. The barista grinds into the portafilter and then slides it into the PuqPress underneath. Two machines take up one space on the counter, which matters most on short, busy espresso stations.

The problem comes when you want to pair a PuqPress M3 with a grinder from another manufacturer. Without an extra part you would have to choose a freestanding tamper and give it its own space. The bracket removes this limitation: it stands on the tamper, and the grinder rests on the bracket instead of directly on the PuqPress M3 housing.

Which grinders is the bracket compatible with?

The PuqPress M3 Bracket is designed to work with the following grinders:

• Mazzer: Super Jolly, Major and Kony,
• Macap: M2, M4 and the MXD line,
• Ceado: E5, E6, E7 and the E37 line,
• HeyCafe.

The PuqPress M3 on its own, without the bracket, fits the Mahlkönig E65S and E65S GbW natively. If you work with one of those models, you do not need the bracket.

PuqPress M3 Bracket vs Uniplate: how do they differ?

The Bracket and the Uniplate solve a similar compatibility problem, but in completely different ways. The Bracket is a platform; the Uniplate is an adapter.

The Bracket is a three-dimensional structure, 14 cm high and weighing 2.2 kg. It raises the grinder above the tamper and is used with the PuqPress M3, M4 and M5 models, among other things for heavy grinders standing on tall legs.

The Uniplate is a flat plate 2 mm thick. It does not raise the grinder; instead it replaces the tamper’s top plate with a version that has a different pattern of mounting holes. It is intended for the PuqPress M2 and M6, so it should not be treated as a substitute for the M3 Bracket.

Installation without a service visit

You can fit the bracket yourself; installation does not need a technician. Once placed on the PuqPress M3, it creates separate support for a compatible grinder. Ventilation openings help keep the airflow the tamper needs for cooling during operation.

Before installing, allow for the extra 14 cm of height of the whole setup and check the space under cabinets or shelves. The manufacturer does not state the material the bracket is made of, so we do not attribute an unconfirmed construction to it.
