PuqPress M4 is an automatic tamper that doubles as a grinder base, designed for stations running Fiorenzato F64 and F83 grinders. It suits cafés using up to 10 kg of coffee a week that want to stop relying on each barista to judge tamping force. The design combines grinder and tamper in one station, so it makes better use of bar space and keeps puck preparation consistent.

PuqPress M4 for Fiorenzato F64 and F83
The M4 is designed as a base for Fiorenzato F64 and F83 grinders. The grinder stands directly on the tamper, so there is no need to find room for a separate freestanding unit. The manufacturer states compatibility with the F64 and F83 families. If you are buying for a specific F64 Evo version, give us the full grinder model name so we can confirm the housing fits.
The tamper works with bottomless, single-spout and double-spout portafilters. The variants available at Colbergcoffee have a 58 mm or 58.3 mm base, sizes used on many professional espresso machines. The manufacturer also offers 53, 54.3 and 57.3 mm bases, and you can swap them yourself in about 30 seconds.
10-30 kg pressure and three tamping profiles
Pressure can be set from 10 to 30 kg in 1 kg steps, using the Adjustment Wheel. This distinction matters: the PuqPress M4 does not start at 5 kg. The lower limit for this model is 10 kg.
There are three profiles: Speedy with a 1.3-second tamp, Precision at 2.1 seconds, and Single. The M4 does not have the Soft and Hulk profiles or a separate Profile Switch. If you need these features in daily work, consider a different model before buying.
Roast level on its own does not determine the right tamping force. With darker roasts you can start at 10 kg and assess the espresso flow, keeping dose and yield constant. Adjust shot time mainly with the grinder setting. Constant tamper pressure helps reduce differences between shots.
What kind of venue is this tamper for?
The PuqPress M4 is designed for venues using up to 10 kg of coffee a week. It suits a café, restaurant, hotel or food service outlet with a compatible Fiorenzato grinder, where the barista makes many espressos a day. Automatic tamping reduces the number of manual movements and applies the same set force no matter who is working the station.
It is not the right model for a venue using more than 10 kg of coffee a week, one that needs pressure below 10 kg, or one with a grinder of a different design. The M4 also has no Mirror Tray, no Soft and Hulk profiles and no Profile Switch. Take these differences into account rather than choosing on price alone.
PuqPress M4 or the freestanding Q or Pro?
The M4 has the edge where a compact station and a permanent pairing with a Fiorenzato F64 or F83 matter. The tamper sits directly under the grinder, so after grinding the portafilter goes straight to tamping without moving to a separate unit.
A freestanding PuqPress Q or Pro gives more freedom of placement and does not tie the bar layout to a specific grinder housing. That option is more practical if the venue uses a different grinder, plans frequent equipment changes or needs a separate tamping station. The M4 is more specialised: its point is mainly compatibility with Fiorenzato and saving space.
